Owner Drivers with United Taxis Dumfries
Stuart Frew Launched United Taxis in December 2025 after several months of work behind the scenes creating new friendships , New Partnerships and always thinking further ahead.
Trying to work out what suits a driver and the customer , What does the customer look for when getting a taxi apart from just getting to their destination. Many customers in last few months complain they cant get taxis , Drivers are unsure of their destination etc, We then listen to drivers and learn the obvious there paying far too much in rent with many paying over £155 a week , If there on holiday they still need to pay , If their car is off the road they still need to pay and this is something that did not sit right with stuart, esp a man who loves his holidays as many of you know. Things being changed and sadly not for the best , seeing things that though drivers pay the same money there are some out there who got prioritised for bookings ( And evidence of some drivers earning over £1000 a week had been seen ) whilst the rest and even some struggle to get regular bookings to guarantee them their £155 rent would be paid. So enough was enough it was time to split and do something for Stuart and others, Bringing drivers together to work as a team to build a brand like no other, The rent the drivers will pay to united are listed below however this money does not go as profit for stuart or anyone else this money is always put back into the business for the business, Operating a booking system , having a landline phone number printing of new signs and business cards their "rent" money is only used towards the business to help all drivers. Once the company is in full running mode the drivers allocated to the company the next phase comes in, This is when the drivers have a voice any issues any concerns any future changes ALL drivers at United get involved ALL drivers have a say nothing else is done unless these drivers agree to it. The only thing we ask of our drivers is:

Happy to pay the weekly rent
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
We have a zero tolerance policy and any driver who abuses his position with us and is found to be guilty will be dismissed without any warnings, To ensure customer satisfaction we feel this is the best approach. WE will however state that any accusation against any of our drivers will be thoroughly investigated before action is taken. The same will go for customers. Any customer who does abuse our drivers will be blocked from using the business again.
Weekly Rent
For now our weekly rent is set at £20 this may change in the months ahead however drivers will be informed of this should it happen, The one promise United Taxis can give its drivers is they will never pay rent over £50 a week.
HOLIDAYS:
Our driver dont pay us to be off that would be insane to ask of such. If your off then your off dont stress about trying to earn your rent money when you return those days are over. We wouldnt be United if we decided to charge our drivers for wanting some well deserved time off their work, Take time off enjoy the time off and relax. Your account will still be there for when you return.
Contract work
We are currently asking for any driver interested in doing contract work for us to get in touch. We are in the stages of securing new contracts and if we have a list of drivers willing to take on such we can then get this sorted out.
